Our five proposals to discover a wonderful territory

Five thematic itineraries that develop on 196 km of dirt roads connected to regional and international cycle networks. The routes provide an unprecedented but fascinating key to reading and exploring the territory, to discover the resources present (historical, architectural but also environmental and landscape) and to discover the economic realities of the rural territory (agricultural companies, hospitality operators).

Itinerary 1 - Along the Great River

Itinerary 1 - Along the Great River

Itinerary 1 offers an exploration of the Tagliamento, Europe's last great Alpine river, which extends the grandeur of the mountains into the Friulian plain. The river's geological influence is evident in water-smoothed rocks, locally referred to as claps in Friulian, which form the distinctive Grava landscape. The route starts in the northern town of Spilimbergo, renowned for its well-preserved historic centre where the castle and cathedral stand close by, and the mosaic tradition is very much a ...

This route traverses three towns—Spilimbergo, San Giorgio della Richinvelda, and San Martino al Tagliamento—flanked by the formidable Tagliamento and Meduna rivers, known for their torrential nature. The route's most notable feature is its system of irrigation ditches, which has historically driven the area's development. These man-made waterways, built in t ...

Itinerary 4 - Towns, Forests and Castles

Itinerary 4 - Towns, Forests and Castles

Itinerary 4 of the Rustic Amour Paîs proposition offers a decidedly urban experience, without neglecting the wine-growing heritage of the district. The route encompasses Valvasone Arzene (the starting point), Casarsa della Delizia, and San Vito al Tagliamento before concluding in Sesto al Reghena. Although lush landscapes and neatly cultivated agricultural areas are prevalent, the focus is on the historical centres. The medieval town of Valvasone features a notable castle, once home to the liter ...
